About Me

I am Samantha.  I’m 37 years old.

I found out that I am autistic and confirmed that I am ADHD.  This is ok as it helps to explain a lot of things about me that I was confused and had questions about before.

I grew up in a world with disability as my sister has Angelman’s Syndrome. So I am fine with this, in fact I am happy and relieved. I pursued this, and I’m content to now know.

I am also a very blessed mother of two. Katrina was born on September 8th, 2004 and she passed away on February 26, 2007. That was the worst thing in my life I went through. The worst day of my life.  But I am lucky to blessed with my second daughter Julianna born on July 14th, 2009.

Raising a second child after you lose one is not easy. It’s a blessing but it isn’t easy. Anyone who has lost a child understands that. You have to deal with many memories and keep both children separate. That is a huge challenge.

I love both my girls the same!  I try and do my very best for Julianna…. She is Autistic as well,  and also has SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder).  This gives us great challenges.  She has a hard time with many things and has many meltdowns. Everything we do is a challenge.  It is often a challenge just to get through the day.  But we manage and with doing many therapies we learn strategies to help her.

She is a beautiful, sweet girl with an amazing personality and I wouldn’t change a thing about her for the world.  She is all MINE :).

I love to write and it helps me with everything that I am experiencing. Hopefully some of my words can help you :), and if you’d like to share some of yours, I would love to read them.

  1. This page brought tears to my eyes. So glad I found your blog and your daughter is beautiful! My son just turned 3 and has signs of autism, SPD and Apraxia. No diagnosis yet. So, as I’m sure you can relate, life can be a struggle from day to day. But he’s the cutest, sweetest boy in the world and that makes it worth while!

    • Thank you so much for your kind words.

Yes, life can definitely be a struggle. We struggle through so many things. Juli was diagnosed at 3 with SPD and autism a year later.

Are you looking into getting an evaluation for him to confirm everything?

You are right. They are our beautiful children and they make everything so worth it.

I wish you the best of luck and I’m so happy you enjoy reading my blog.

I hope to be able to help people dealing with all of these special needs and to connect with others going through similar situations :).

      Nice to “meet” you :).
